***EVERYONE - PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT***

Dear Competitors,
I’m beginning to wonder why we call these Mini Trials because they certainly aren’t mini in size. It is going to be a 3 ring circus, actually more. With many last minute additions and changes the schedule is going to be really tight.  We ask that everyone be ready for their rides at their scheduled time and that you know where you are going.  Please review the schedule and where you are riding and how to get there.  We have changed things from years past so please take the time to read the following as it should help to make your day go smoother.
We are squeezing in a lot of rides in a fairly short period of time, please check your schedule & plan accordingly.  With the exception of the Baby Beginner Novice and the Very Green divisions, everyone will ride their stadium immediately after stadium.  We will try to run the jumping phases in the order that is listed in the program. Those with multiple rides have been scheduled so you should have enough time between rides. If you have a problem, please check in with the paddock person when you arrive in the warm up. You MUST, however, ride your dressage at your scheduled time.

Please refer to the farm map & stabling map posted on the website to help you find your way around Stone Gate Farm.  Keep in mind that it is different from our recognized competitions.

Parking:

  • Day parking is at the top of the hill near the house
  • Stabling drive is at the bottom of the hill past the house, this is a one way drive! Stabling is full so parking will be tight, please plan accordingly.  You may park just inside the pasture fence if necessary.
  • If you have to use the drive during competition, please be considerate of the riders in the dressage ring nearest to the drive.

Schooling:

  • You must check in first with the secretary at the house
  • You must wear a pinney
  • You must have a ground person
  • You must wear an SEI approved helmet & wear a vest
  • Medical armbands are encouraged
  • Only jump flagged obstacles, please don’t jump the fences repeatedly
  • THE JUMPS IN THE HAY FIELD LIMITED TO ONLY THOS COMPETING AT THAT PARTICULAR LEVEL AND ONLY TO BE JUMPED ONCE.  The hay is under stress due to the dry weather and a lot of jumping will kill it!
  • Stadium schooling is available for $5 for 5 minutes.  Please check in for a scheduled time.

Dressage: To keep the dressage running on time we ask that you enter the arena to do your courtesy lap as soon as the horse before you does their final salute.
Rings 1 & 2 ~ sand arenas at the bottom of the hill near stabling

  • from the parking area, please use Schneider Rd. otherwise you will be on the cross country course
  • from the stabling area you will go around the pond towards Schneider Rd., please use caution as you will be on the cross country course

Ring 3 ~ grass ring near the south pond.  All phases of the Intro divisions will be in this area and use the same warm up for dressage and jumping  The Intro dressage only classes will be held here as well

  • from the parking field you will go west to the end of the field & turn left down the drive until you get to the warm up area.
  • from the stabling area you will take a trail through the woods that is at the south end of the parking field & you will go across the field (mowed path) towards the 2’ XC warm up where you will go through the fence & turn left on the drive, at the bottom of the hill you will turn right & proceed along the edge of the woods (which will be on your left) at the end of the field turn left.  Please use caution, as cross country may be going on.

Stadium:

  • Intro will be the same as dressage
  • Stabled horses will go straight up the hill towards the main barn & you will come out between 2 telephone poles near the announcer’s tower and go through the back yard & through the parking area. At the end of the parking lot turns left and go down the hill.  You will pass the Intro warm up and turn left to the jumping warm up.  Please use caution as you will be going through the cross country
  • When you jump the last fence in stadium you will exit the arena near the cross country start box

Cross Country:
2’ Divisions:

  • From the parking area you will follow the drive past the house, barn and announcer’s tower.  Continue down the drive past some cross country fences until you come to an open in the fence, the warm up will be on your left
